Thinking About Membership?

Chamber membership is about more than showing up—it’s about building meaningful relationships that lead to trust, referrals, and long-term business growth. We believe the strongest networks are built when members take a pay-it-forward approach, focus on connection before promotion, and stay engaged beyond a single event.

If you’re considering membership, I encourage you to call, text, or email me directly. I’m happy to learn about your goals and explain how Chamber involvement delivers real value.

Angela Kubisky, Executive Director Since August 2025

Our Networking Philosophy: How Members Get Real Value

At the Millburn–Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, networking is intentional. Showing up matters—but how you engage matters more. Our most successful members follow these principles:

  1. Prepare Before You Attend
Know who you want to meet, and how to clearly explain what you do—in 30–60 seconds.

  2. Focus on Relationships, Not Sales
Networking is about building trust and understanding, not pitching. Sales and referrals come later.

  3. Ask Better Questions
Be curious. Learn about others’ businesses, challenges, and goals before talking about your own.

  4. Share Your Success Stories. - Not to brag, but to share how you add value to your clients. This will make you more memorable.

  5. Be Generous and Pay It Forward
Make introductions, share resources, and look for ways to help others without expecting anything in return.

  6. Be Consistent and Stay Engaged
Value comes from repeated interactions over time, not one-off attendance.

  7. Always Follow Up
The real work happens after the event. A thoughtful follow-up turns a conversation into a relationship.

Networking works best when it’s intentional, relational, and ongoing—and our Chamber is designed to support exactly that.

If this type of networking resonates with you, then we want you in our Chamber!
